Description
The title does not express a quest for immortality but is the actual name of this succulent. I found this colorful plant along the trail in our desert preserve this spring. Besides being structurally fascinating, the Liveforever, or Dudleya, is in the stonecrop family. The flowers of Dudleya have parts numbered in fives, with the petals arranged in tubular, star-shaped, and bell-shaped forms and, when fruiting, are filled with tiny, ovoid-crescent-shaped seeds.
